“Mankai” Synopsis (AKA: “American Sushi Chef”):
Kenji Tatsuda can't seem to get anything right. He fails to place in a popular sushi contest, his girlfriend leaves him and his businessman father only sees him as a loser. But his love for sushi and his creative way of making it, gets him a job offer in America with George Kaufman, a widowed Jewish deli owner in New York. George decides to “hang up” deli life after his partner of 25 years passes away. His daughter introduces him to sushi and after a series of "sushi coincidences" and deep soul-searching—George is convinced that he needs to make a change or he'll lose his business entirely…
